Post Valentines Day... Post

Last week was the day of St. Valentine: a day of love, appreciation, and gratefulness. This led me to wonder how many of relationships started. I know that I really bond with people over three things: movies, music, and beer.

It’s pretty straightforward. We bond over music and movies, because they say a lot about who we are as people, and presumably, who we will be as partners.

Look at music for example, it’s basically poetry. So when you hear a love song, it’s a love poem, written by someone for someone trying to get their message of love across. And when you love that song, you’re borrowing their eloquence, which is nice because most people just don’t know how to say what they want — especially when the message is about love. Too often the message just gets lost in the translation.

Speaking of love songs: the archive is full of them! I just got the go-ahead to upload some new music by Bette Graham. She was married to her husband Bernie in 1952 and he contacted us to share her music, even though she’s no longer with us. I have to say, this really touched me. Check Bette’s music out here!

Another new artist I found on the archive is O-Drab. He has some really cool electronic beats. You know there’s some electronic beats that you can just get lost in? Well these are those exact kinds of beats. Check him out here!

With that, I’m signing off. Until next time!
