A look back

As the year comes to an end and Christmas quickly approaches, I find myself struggling to find something to blog about. I’m sitting here at my desk, with my chocolate covered candy cane, watching the snow fall, and I feel good about what I’ve  accomplished in the time I’ve been with the NCRA.  I suppose that this is that generic “It’s the end of the year so let’s look back on everything I did” post. Let’s go to work.

In all honesty, I didn’t really know what I was getting into when I first started. They had mentioned some PSA production and music archive work, but I wasn’t too clear on what that was. I’m not gonna lie, it took me a while to get my footing. But once I did, I just took off. To date, I have uploaded roughly 40 songs, 3 artists, and produced 7 PSAs. That’s right, 7! That’s something I’ve been working really hard on and am pretty proud of. So there’s that.

Earlier this year I was in a pretty terrible car accident. I was crossing the street and I was struck by a van trying to run a red light. I dislocated my collar bone which will always be dislocated, and suffered a third degree concussion as my head went through the wind shield. It was a long recovery process, but I’m relatively back to normal. I very easily could’ve died. This whole experience has made me really appreciate life again. I consider myself SO lucky to be working in such a cool place. Especially after the summer I had. Now, I know this doesn’t really pertain to OIMA, but this is that retrospective post, so deal with it. I just want to say that I love it here, and I love that I’m still alive.

I have been extended! I’ll be kept on here until, at least, the end of March. So I got that going for me. Which is nice. I’ll be focusing more on OIMA. A lot more actually. I’m going to be the new OIMA co-ordinator! So as of the new year, this site will become my adopted baby. I’m excited!

Happy Holidays and a happy New Year!
