Shelley was born in London, ON and grew up in Milton. At 15, instead of doing homework, she would sit on the floor beside the radio -- not great for the grades but a decent musical education. She started in community radio at CKDU-FM in Halifax, NS in 1994 and has also lived and worked with community media in Northern Ireland, Afghanistan and Rwanda, all of which is reflected in her music collection. She currently lives in Ottawa, ON where she is the Executive Director of the National Campus and Community Radio Association (NCRA), one of the partners that brought OIMA to life. She also does a weekly radio show on CHUO-FM.
